Health & safety
The safety of our staff and users of the buildings we clean is Skweeky Kleen’s priority. The
success of the H&S measures we put in place is evidenced by our outstanding H&S track record
and RIDDOR results. We achieved and have maintained a H&S accreditation from
SafeContractor for over five years.
Furthermore, health and safety experts Citation
provide technical advice and support, ensuring compliance with H&S legislation and best practice
guidance.
We provide health and safety training to our Delivery and Management Teams, ensuring that all
statutory compliance and H&S obligations are achieved. Training is given to our Cleaning Team
through online courses, Toolbox Talks and Safe System of Work Procedures. These include heavy
lifting, slips and trips and COSHH Awareness. Skweeky Kleen develops bespoke Risk Assessments
and Method Statements for each contract. These allow each job to be properly planned and
resourced, and provide a framework which enables a safer environment for your workforce and
our staff.
Operatives wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) depending on the cleaning task, such as
rubber gloves and aprons. Hazard signage, such as wet floor signs, are used whenever necessary.
All our cleaning machinery is PAT tested (Portable Appliance Testing) and a register of these
tests is kept accordingly. Furthermore, all equipment is regularly serviced to ensure it
operates as effectively and safely as possible.
Our Cleaners follow the national colour coding system for cleaning materials on each contract.
This ensures cleaning equipment is not used in multiple areas, thus reducing the risk of
cross-contamination. Skweeky Kleen colour codes mops, buckets, cloths, gloves etc as follows:
- Blue – low risk areas
- Green – food and bar areas
- Red – washroom areas
- Yellow – clinical areas
